Hampton Bay AC552A1 Ceiling Fan - Dip Switch Issues:
Gregg Stewart asked: I need to know how to find out the DIP switch code on the fan to link it to the remote.
Mark replied: Hi Gregg, typically as long as the dip switches are set the same on both the fan and the remote, the remote will be able to communicate with the fan. I'll try to look up the model number you have posted and find any other information I can about the dip switches, and any programming. You posted the model as AC552A1, is this correct? If you have any other information on the fan it'll be helpful. So far I searched and I found a manual, but it didn't list any instructions for dip switches. It is mostly just installation instructions. The troubleshooting section includes fan will not start, fan makes humming noises, fan wobble, and that is it unfortunately. Nothing there about dip switch troubleshooting.

Unknown Make or Model:
Rob Shafer asked: Hello, I was doing some electrical work took down my fan and discovered there wasn't any down rod at the top of the fan. Its hanging off the housing that's bolted to the top that screws to the bracket mounted to the ceiling. So I guess this is called a flush mount. Is that mounting ok. Meaning it has place to connect a rod, the bracket has a place for the ball to hang. but it wasn't used? Thanks for the help

Thanks for posting your question. It may be helpful to also send a picture. Could you send a picture to us so we can take a look?
We would need the make and model of the fan, in order to look it up and see whether that fan can be mounted as a flush mount fan or not. Ultimately, if the fan is wobbling around or looks dangerous it would be a good idea to take it down and ensure there is a downrod in place. Again, if we know the make and model of fan, we can search for the manual online and see if it functions as a low profile fan or not.
Look for the UPC code on the fan and then search up the UPC code online to figure out what the make/model of the fan is. Good luck

Mark replied: Hi Allen, I hope you're doing well. I took a look on the Internet and I was able to find an answer to your question. I read on the Home Depot community forums that although the St. Regis from Hampton Bay was a great fan, it's no longer carried by Home Depot. Home Depot lists the phone number to contact for Hampton Bay lighting and fans. Their phone number is 1-877-527-0313. They are open Monday to Friday 8 AM - 6 PM EST. If this is a part that is requested often, we may consider purchasing some stock and keeping it in our inventory. Currently we do not carry this part. I hope this helps.
